Free Book Drawing: Why Jesus by Ravi Zacharias

Today Apologetics 315 will be giving away a copy of Ravi Zacharias' new book: Why Jesus?: Rediscovering His Truth in an Age of Mass Marketed Spirituality. From the press release: "Zacharias examines the impact of cultural figures such as Shirley Maclaine, authors James Redfield (The Celestine Prophecy), Rhonda Byrne (The Secret), Dan Brown (The Da Vinci Code), books by Eckart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, the Dali Lama and Marianne Williamson, among others. Paying particular attention to the influence of Oprah Winfrey, Why Jesus? equips readers with facts dispelling New Age teachings and instead outlines why Christianity is the only true path."
Sound like something you want to read or give to a friend or family member?

Joel Won the Drawing! Congrats.

"Good Providence"? What does that mean?

LittleGoose said...

hahaha I take it to mean good luck! except luck implies chance, which implies God is not in control. It may be that 'good providence' is Brian's christian version of 'good luck' haha

That's pretty much it, LIttleGoose. A bible teacher of mine would always correct anyone who said, "good luck" with something like that.

good times! what school did you go to Brian?

and my church friends often say 'potblessing' instead of 'potluck' for the same reason lol.

Someplace in Michigan, if I recall. : )

Good providence is a fine substitute for "good luck" (keeping these matters in God's hands). But when I wish my students the best results in their tests, I give them a "God speed."

Quick question as to the drawing. Is it "One entry per person, and all those who resort to multiple entries will be severely ignored"?

Brian Auten said...

dgfisch,

Yes, those who post multiple times, like 120 times or more, to take an example from last time, will reduce their chances to zero. In fact, they may be asked to buy the book. : )
